Adventure Club Memories

It’s important for our students to build relationships and connections but we recognize they need to be supported in order to be successful in community settings. Adventure Club is designed to support the development of skills in the areas of social communication, self-regulation and independence .

Movement Adventure  – Yoga with Anna

Anna B, teen self-advocate, yoga instructor and Learning Program grad led us in a stretching & movement class.   We learned about the importance of fitness and staying healthy and also had a lot of fun with partner poses!

Outdoor Adventure – Mass Audubon

The kids played an engaging game of Nature Bingo exploring nature’s elements on our annual family hike at a nature sanctuary.

Advocacy Adventure – State House

Every year on Down Syndrome Advocacy Day, our older students join forces with the MDSC to visit the State House to advocate for the passage of critical legislation to support our loved ones.

Family Adventure – Apple Picking

The perfect setting to spend a beautiful New England day exploring the mazes and picking apples!

Service Adventure – Veterans Day

Our students can give back too and at this event, we learned about veterans and the importance of giving back to our communities. Families collected and organized household supplies for local veterans to celebrate their service.
