Every year, on March 21, people all aroun
d the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. March 21 is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. Socks were chosen because the karyotype of DS chromosomes actually looks like mismatched socks!
We have partnered up with John Lee Cronin, of John’s Crazy Socks to raise awareness about Down syndrome. John’s Crazy Sock’s is a father-son inspired venture. John’s affinity for crazy socks paired with his love of making people smile made their mission clear: simply to spread happiness!
